The bedrooms are fantastic. Very comfy beds, easily the best I've slept in away from home. As an ex-hotel manager myself, I was very impressed with the room (room 5). The furniture was lovely and amenities in the room good. A few recommendations from the guests' perspective - a shelf in the shower for shampoo, etc, decaf tea and coffee, adding to the courtesy tray, and the addition of a hairdryer would improve guest experience. We also didn't have a do not disturb sign, and the breakfast room had no music playing, so it was silent whilst eating. Having a radio playing would have made a much nicer atmosphere. Not critisms at all, just little additions to improve your guests' stay. The walls in our room also need a touch up of paint in places but giving that it is currently peak tourist season I fully understand that kind of work is done in the winter months and I'm sure is already on the agenda when it's financially feasible to take rooms offline for decorating out of season. Otherwise, though, the room was spotlessly clean and immaculate. The only thing that slightly let the place down was the lack of basic customer service, unfortunately. Whilst service improved during our stay, we unfortunately received a frosty "welcome" from both owners on our first encounter with each of them, which did dampen our experience and made us feel quite unwelcome at first. This did, however, improve during the stay slightly, and we were made to feel more welcome by the end of our 2 night stay after us making an extra effort and trying really hard to strike conversations up (one would argue though that effort shouldnt be required from the guests). Tip: A smile and a "good morning" go a long way with your guests in my experience. My first experience when arriving for breakfast was met with "tea or coffee" in a tone that was more of an accusation than a question! No, hello, good morning, hoe are your or a simple smile.

Very friendly staff. Excellent location for flat walk into town, historic harbour and coast path. Easy reach of bus stop. Free on road parking. Good freshly cooked breakfast with juice and cereals, toast, tea or coffee. Comprehensive choice of evening meal, freshly cooked, excellent drinks selection, well priced. Comfortable, warm, nicely decorated room, with en suite. Tea and coffee making facilities, TV, large fluffy towels, plenty of hot water with spacious corner shower. Superb sea view.

The Quay Inn is a locals pub as well as a guest house. I like that. The location is excellent for everything Minehead has to offer. Great choice of beers and an extensive menu for evening meals. We didn't have a lunch at the pub but again the choice looked good. Parking available for free immediately outside which again is a plus. The landlady is a character and very good company in the bar. The breakfast was also very nice and prepared fresh.

The room was clean and comfortable. The host showed me to the my room and explained everything very patiently. The breakfast was very good and generous. The view from my room was absolutely beautiful. The place is remote enough that it's lovely and quiet but very central at the same time so it is within walking distance of everything. I would definitely book again.
